This week’s fundraising Best Practice in Action

Today we bring you another nonprofit fundraising Best Practice in Action from our weekly  series. Each week, we’ll highlight an organization that has done an incredible job of promoting its online fundraising efforts with FirstGiving and show you how to do the same. This week’s Best Practice is. . .

Set a fundraising minimum and incentive for your event, and publicize it in your newsletter.

Our friends at Give Kids the World are fast-tracking to fundraising success. This year they came up with one of the most creative fundraising events we’ve ever seen: a roller coaster marathon. What’s more, they motivated fundraisers by providing a thrilling incentive: each fundraiser who raises at least $50 for the event receives special access to ride the roller coaster all day long:

Give Kids the World publicized the event in their e-newsletter and provided a clear link to their
FirstGiving nonprofit page to encourage people to get started right away. Clicking the link takes thrill-seekers directly to Give Kids the World’s FirstGiving nonprofit page, where they can find more information about the event and how to start fundraising:

So, to recap: Generate some excitement and give your fundraisers an incentive to ramp up their fundraising efforts fast!
