Top 10 ways to use your page creation auto emails #7

top-10-list-3

Firstgiving’s Account Management Team has been on the road for the past few months, talking with nonprofits like you about how to raise more money online and listening to your feedback.  One thing you’ve told us is how helpful it is to receive an automatic email when someone creates a new fundraising page for your nonprofit.

But have you ever asked yourself, “What should I do next?”

Not to fear. . .this week we bring you #7 in our countdown of top 10 ways to use your page creation auto emails.

  • Number 10- Thank each fundraiser personally for creating a page
  • Number 9- Lead by example, create a page of your on to show off to fundraisers as an example
  • Number 8- Get inactive pages ACTIVE
  • Number 7-  Don’t count only on support from individuals, ask businesses too

Lets face it, fundraising is a business.  It’s not all about what you know, but who you know that makes all the difference, so if you find that your fundraisers networks are not bringing in the big bucks, reach out to small business.   Send an email to your fundraisers reminding them to ask their friends and family if their company offers a matching gift.  On average one out of ten donations are matching gift eligible and over 50% of fortune 500 companies offer a matching gift program; too often this valuable resource is left untapped.  Tell fundraisers to direct their donors to ask their HR representative or send them to matchinggifts.com.  This site provides a free search to see if there company offers a matching gift program and what eligibility employees have.

Another great untapped resource is asking local businesses to support fundraisers.  You support them, why shouldn’t they support you.  When your event is local, business would love the free PR that they have donated to fundraising efforts.  This doesn’t just stop at individual fundraisers, nonprofits ask them to sponsor your event too!

Happy Fundrasing!
