This week’s nonprofit fundraising Best Practice in Action

Today we bring you another nonprofit fundrasing Best Practice in Action from our weekly series. Each week, we’ll highlight an organization that has done an incredible job of promoting its online fundraising efforts with FirstGiving and show you how to do the same. This week’s best practice is. . .

Talk about fundraising opportunities in your e-newsletter.

Our friends at Save the Children recently launched a grassroots campaign to encourage their supporters to Make a Difference this summer. Since one of the ways they get the word out to their community of supporters is through their e-newsletter, they added a FirstGiving fundraising button with a clear call to action. Here’s an excerpt from this month’s newsletter; the button links right to their FirstGiving nonprofit page so that supporters can be inspired and start fundraising right away:

The Make a Difference Campaign is well on its way to success, with Save the Children’s interns leading the way!

So, to recap: Where does your community live online? How many supporters receive your e-newsletter? Once you’ve planned a fundraising campaign, publicize it! Add a clear call to action to your e-newsletter so that your supporters can start fundraising and make a difference.

Happy fundraising and best wishes for success!
