And the winner is…

We often encourage nonprofits and fundraisers to use prizes as incentives, and we at Firstgiving aren’t shy about doing it too.  Nothing fancy, maybe a donation or a certificate or recognition on a website, but prizes and contests do motivate and recognize behavior.  But too often with all the fuss of the fundraising event or charity drive or promotional contest, we forget to properly close the loop.  Make sure you announce the winners.  It’s only fair to them, and helps everybody see that the contest was carried out properly.

So, in the interest of closing the loop and leading by example, I want to congratulate Lori S. of Rochester Hills, Michigan who was randomly selected from respondents to our recent donor survey, and wins an ipod.  Yay!  So next time you see one of those surveys or promotions that says you have a chance to win, remember that you do.
