Four runners: which one are you?

What’s really interesting about working at Firstgiving is that we get to see such variety in the people who are raising money for the same cause at the same event. Today I noticed that four people who work here are all raising money for very different organizations but doing the same event, World Run Day.

First off, there’s Beth. She’s our product manager, and her cause is Shoe4Africa, an organization that provides Africans with HIV/AIDS awareness and testing, and running shoes, too. Click on her picture to learn more. Next to Beth is Mark, our lead web developer. You might know him from other programming projects such as the Firstgiving Facebook application, and you probably won’t be too surprised to learn that his charity of choice is the Mozilla Foundation.

James is our business development guy and his cause is Oil Change International, an organization devoted to research and advocate for clean energy. And finally, there’s Grant. No, he’s not a vegetable, he’s our marketing analyst, but he’s a great cook and he’s running to support the Federation of Massachusetts Farmers Markets. Yum.

World Run Day is an event where you can run as far as you want for any cause you want.  If the four examples here don’t inspire you, I don’t know what will.  There are 1.5 million nonprofit organizations int he USA and you can raise money for any one of them with Firstgiving.
