At first, we thought this might be a desperate response to rising fuel costs.  A closer look, however, revealed one of the most creative fundraisers we’ve ever seen:  

Please keep your seat in an upright position and your seatbelts securely fastened.

These Firstgiving fundraisers are participating in the annual Dulles Day Plane Pull.  Teams of 20 will line up on a pull rope in front of a cargo jet at Dulles International Airport, and the fastest team to pull the aircraft 12 feet is declared the winner.  We wonder what the average time is (how heavy is a cargo jet, anyway?!).  

And this display of raw human power and teamwork is done in the name of raising money for the Virginia chapter of Special Olympics.  Check out their fundraising page–they’re more than 20% to their goal at the time of post!
