Digg promo extended: one more week to win a $500 donation
Posted by David Karp in Fundraising Ideas, Nonprofit fundraising events, Social Media Fundraising, Technology for Fundraising, Tips & Tricks, tags: $500 donation, diggOur Fundraising page Digg promotion is doing very well, but because of summer slowness we’ve decided to extend the grand prize for another week so everyone has more time to Digg their favorite pages. It’s simple:
- Use Digg to submit your Firstgiving fundraising page and ask your friends to Digg it (vote for it)
- Even if you don’t have a fundraising page, you can still Digg other people’s fundraising pages
- At the end of the week, we’ll make a nice big donation to the page that earned the most Diggs.
In the mean time, we have awarded the random donation to a Dugg page. The winner is the Bly Family Runs Together for Team Hoyt! Congratulations on winning and the nice use of a video on your fundraising page.
Team Hoyt is a father and son team that compete year-round in distance runs and triathlons. The father Dick is a retired lieutenant colonel in the Massachusetts Air National Guard. His son Rick is a non-speaking spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy. In running events, Dick pushes Rick in a custom-made wheel chair.
“The goal of the Hoyt Foundation is to integrate disabled people into everyday life by educating the able-bodied about challenges faced by disabled persons. Team Hoyt travels the world providing educational and motivational seminars about life with disabilities.
Liz Bly will be running the Rock N Roll Half Marathon in Virginia Beach. The Bly family is closing in on their goal, and the marathon is still more than a month away.
So Digg the Bly Family, Digg Team Hoyt, Digg your fundraising page and Digg some other pages too. It’ll all good for good causes.
