Firstgiving is happy to announce a new improvement to your Firstgiving Start Page at no extra charge: the ability to accept general donations. Now, visitors to your Start Page have the additional option to make a general donation to your nonprofit.
Whether your supporters raise funds for you through a fundraising page or chose to make a general donation, all donor information is available in our new and improved online reporting area.
What should you do? Spread the word!
- Include this information in your next e-newsletter, blog post or print correspondence
- If you don’t currently have an event, tell your supporters they can still help your cause by making a general donation through your Firstgiving Start Page
- Add a Firstgiving button to your website’s "ways to help" section
- Remind your supporters that the best way to help your cause is through a personal fundraising page. But, those who want to make a donation can help here too
- Log into the reporting area and familiarize yourself with your new report
- General donations are displayed in the "general donations report" as well as in your "financial report."
You may rest assured that our fees have remained the same. Whether the donation is made through a fundraising page or through the new general donation feature, only the 7.35% fee applies.
