As we oft discuss, our fundraisers are more creative than we are, and they continue to come up with new ways to use our online donation system. Matthew Wormald’s online fundraising page is a perfect example. It’s something you hear almost everyday–for the price of your daily cup of coffee, you can… But how many people are moved to sacrifice that morning caffeine buzz? How do you decide where your money should go instead?
Matthew started simple and is rerouting his money to WaterAid America so that people throughout the world have access to clean water. His experiment is two fold. First, he wants to see if he can raise $5,000 throughout the year by donating his money instead of spending it. Second, he wants to double that amount by getting others to do the same simply by sacrificing one luxury over the year.
Matthew’s dedication is impressive, and you can see from all his donations just how much he has given up already. He has sacrificed and instead donated the price of concert tickets, junk food, a CD, a sweater, and so much more. Keep up the great work, Matthew!
