Firstgivng loves unorthodox uses of our pages. Some of my personal favorites include Pim’s virtual raffle and Shane’s I don’t have time to participate in an event fundraising pages. This weekend, we came across Landon’s 24 hours of advertising campaign.
Last November, Landon Fears created the blog site and consulting service, Chance the Genie, to help businesses and individuals tap into their own creativity. As he explains, "so much of the world is centered around ideas and how they change the world, but very few know how to consistently come up with ideas." One of Landon’s most recent ideas is to sell audio advertising via Firstgiving to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation of America. With 86,400 seconds in every day, Landon hopes to raise $86,400 by charging $1 per second for advertising. Anyone can advertise on Playlist Ads, from individuals to businesses to bands, provided they want to get their name out there and help terminally ill children in the process.
