As I was looking around and reading some different blogs, I came across a blog that combines two fantastic interests: charity and t-shirts. A couple month ago, when I asked my friend, Matt, to name a few things people collect, he came up with. . ."books, comics, and clever t-shirts".
Voila, T-shirt Watch, a blog that reviews the latest t-shirt styles, be it clever or be it chic. Besides being awesome and already writing about a really great topic, Doug is also running a charity fundraiser on his
blog to raise money for back-to-school clothes in his area!
I emailed back and forth with Doug to learn about how he had found our website and he found us via the book, The 4 Hour Work Week, a business development book by Tim Ferris. When asked why he decided to start a fundraiser on his blog this is what Doug said:
"In the course of writing my blog (T-Shirt Watch) I’ve talked to a lot of great clothing designers, online store owners and avid t-shirt fans. I thought the blog was the perfect vehicle to get involved with a charity and reach a larger audience. Donating to a cause that helps provide clothing for people in need seemed like the logical thing to do.
Donating to a charity in my own community made the most sense. In the future I’d like to team up with online t-shirt store owners from across the country and highlight their own local charities."
Needless to say, we are currently obsessed with how great Doug is and look forward to more great things from him! The organization that he is fundraising for is the Back-to-School Clothing Drive, a Phoenix, AZ based charity that works to provide school outfits and uniforms, backpacks and school supplies to less fortunate children in the Phoenix area. Perfection.
