THIS WEEK’S FOTW IS NONE OTHER THAN. . . Michael Harriott.


Why- might one ask- is Michael given our beguiling award of awesome?  Well listen my friends and I will tell  you the tale of Mr. Harriott and it will uplift you, it will make you smile, and IT WILL GIVE YOU HOPE!  Michael is a boy with a mission, a mission to bring others happiness and awake the sense of caring in the world around him. 

He is raising money for The Better Days Foundation, a non-profit organization created to help 9/11 victims’ families through a variety of healing programs.  Michael has been volunteering with The Better Days Foundation for over 4 years and is actively fundraising to keep the program doing what is does best. . . make people happy!  Michael has started The 5 Campaign, a fundraising campaign that asks for 5 dollars from each person, merely asking them to tell friends about the campaign in lieu of asking for large donations.

If you go to Michael’s page you can read a letter from the camp’s director, Amy Callahan, who helped create the organization in the summer of 2002 for 48 children who lost a parent or a loved one in 9/11.   From that first summer the program has blossomed and they are now making plans for the CBD 2007.
