Dumpster Days: 22nd Annual Event Continues to be a Unique Way to Raise Awareness and Funds

Palm Beach area celebrities will sit in Dumpsters to raise awareness of homeless issues

The Lord’s Place will sponsor Dumpster Days on Nov. 3-5, 2005, at three locations, including one at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter.

Area "celebrities" from the media, political arena, government, law and
the community to sit in a Dumpster at one of the three sites throughout
the county.

The
event, started by Joe Ranieri of the Lord’s Place 1983, is designed to
bring awareness to many issues facing the homeless.

Dumpster locations are the original 1983 site in West Palm Beach at the
law firm of Searcy Denney Scarola Barnhart & Shipley, P.A., Roger
Dean Stadium in Jupiter and Park Avenue BBQ and Grille in Wellington.

Dumpster times are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter
and Park Avenue BBQ and Grille in Wellington, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for
the West Palm Beach site at Searcy Denney.

Volunteers and "celebrity" sitters will raise money by encouraging
friends, family and co-workers to donate to Dumpster Days. Local
businesses may have "teams" of sitters helping to raise money and the
general public will be encouraged to drive by a Dumpster location to
cheer on the sitters.

The Lord’s Place has created a Firstgiving online fundraising page
